THE UNSEEN AIR

This series is a montage of memories represented by landscapes, inspired by my extensive travels and experiences from 2010-2019. During my travels, some of the most memorable moments were when I gazed out on various modes of transportation and witnessed the moving landscapes before me. I was struck by the ever-changing nature of these sceneries, their fragility, and unfiltered rawness, which resonated with me on an emotional level.

Watercolor on paper and metal foil. Painted in 2022

The interlude is a work of art that captures the essence of my recent artistic exploration, combining my experiment with copper leaf and my exploration of larger dimensions.

There was a delicate balance of precision and spontaneity, much like the dance of the tango.

In June, the entire city of Vancouver is embellished with luscious blooms of hydrangeas. The longevity of these flowers every year and the reminiscence of summer that they evoke brings me great solace.

During the month of June, Vancouver is adorned with the lush blooms of hydrangeas all over the city. While June is often associated with the pre-summer rainy season, I found solace in the soothing nature of these rainy days. Unlike the heavy rainfall and sweltering heat of the summer to come, the rain in June provided a comforting respite.

For this piece, I aimed to depict hydrangeas in a contrasting color palette. I wanted to maintain the vibrancy of magenta and neon yellow-green while also achieving a harmonious balance between these two hues in juxtaposition. This theme of contrast and harmony guided my creative process throughout the piece.
